Most customers — domestic and commercial — overpay because the market is opaque, the contracts are dense and the regulators are slow. We publish the numbers the suppliers already have (price-cap rates by region, what each appliance really costs to run, who supplies each postcode area) and, when you need a person, put a named consultant on your case with our commission disclosed in writing before you sign anything.
