Business energy

Whole-of-market business energy procurement — without the hidden uplifts.

From a single half-hourly site to a 200-meter portfolio: we tender every renewal across the entire UK B2B market, present every quote with our commission disclosed in writing, and audit every invoice against contract.

UK business energy is a wholesale-driven, contract-auctioned market. The price you pay is a function of (a) wholesale futures on the day your renewal is locked, (b) network and policy charges set by Ofgem, and (c) any uplift baked in by an intermediary. We can't change (a) or (b). We can — and do — strip out (c).

Tendering across every licensed B2B supplier

We hold trading agreements with all 20+ UK licensed business energy suppliers — Octopus, British Gas Business, E.ON Next Business, EDF Energy, ScottishPower Business, SmartestEnergy, Crown Gas & Power, Drax, TotalEnergies, Pozitive Energy, Yu Energy, Yorkshire Energy and others. On each renewal we run a sealed tender, give every supplier the same commercial brief and compare on a like-for-like basis.

  • Half-hourly (HH) settlement: bespoke pricing benchmarked against day-ahead and seasonal curves
  • Non-half-hourly (NHH): SME and microbusiness tendering on standard product code
  • Multi-site, multi-meter aggregation for volume discount eligibility
  • Out-of-contract and deemed-rate triage where renewal has lapsed

Fixed, flexible, basket — chosen on your risk profile

Most SMEs benefit from a fixed contract: certainty, simple budgeting, no exposure to wholesale spikes. Larger consumers (typically >1 GWh/yr) often benefit from a flex or basket product, where blocks of energy are bought across the contract term to smooth out peak market days. We model both before recommending — and we are happy to recommend "do nothing yet" when the market timing favours it.

Green procurement, REGO and corporate PPAs

For ESG-mandated organisations we structure REGO-backed renewable supply, additionality-tested green tariffs, and where appropriate corporate Power Purchase Agreements (cPPAs) with onshore wind and solar generators. We will not pass off cheap unbundled REGOs as Scope 2 zero-carbon — the audit trail must withstand third-party assurance.

Commission disclosure (mandatory since 2024)

Ofgem rules require every third-party intermediary to disclose any commission earned from a contract to the customer in writing before signature. Our standard practice exceeds this: every quote in your tender pack carries the supplier price, our fee on that price (in £ and as p/kWh), and the all-in delivered cost. You see them all and choose.

Frequently asked

  • No. We are paid a commission by the winning supplier, disclosed to you in writing on the quote. If you choose to do nothing, you owe us nothing.

Whether you run a Mayfair restaurant group or rent a flat in Salford, the audit is the same and the fee is the same: nothing, unless we save you money.
